Criteria for papers

The Editorial Board of Journal of Machine Engineering takes under consideration for publication original articles. Each paper should include the statement of originality ( Statement of Originality (.pdf)) signed by the authors that the work has not been published previously or submitted elsewhere for review.

Ethics in publishing

For information on Ethics in publishing and Ethical guidelines for journal publication we based on rules presented by Elsevier and Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. We follow closely the industry associations, such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). You can see it on website: Publication ethics and malpractice statement.

Please familiarize also with the rules given by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education regarding to the review process, the journal evaluation requirements, ghostwriting and guest authorship fighting procedure present in a file:
Good practice in reviewing procedures in science.

"Ghostwriting" and "guest authorship" are signs of the lack of scientific honesty and any detected case will be exposed.

We meet "ghostwriting" if someone has made a substantial contribution to the publication, without revealing his/her participation as one of the authors or without mentioning his part in the acknowledgements, whereas we deal with "guest authorship" if authors participation is minimal or does not exist, and yet he/she is an author/co-author of publications.

Editorial Board of Journal of Machine Engineering follows the rules given by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and also presented by Elsevier:
a) We oblige the authors to point out their personal input to paper creation (their affiliation, who was the one to make a concept, bases, methods, protocol etc. used to write the paper) but the one submitting the paper is mainly responsible for all the matters.
b) We inform that ghostwriting and guest authorship are ethically wrong and we will fight against them informing the particular institutions (scientific associations, editors associations etc.)
c) The authors must inform us about their work financing, the specific scientific and other institutions input (financial disclosure) e.g. research grants.
d) We record all the mentioned above situations especially the non-ethical behavior.

Publication Agreement and Assignment of Copyright

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a Publication Agreement and Assignment of Copyright. ( Publication Agreement (.pdf)). Acceptance of the agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.
